"Not a bad life, just a bad day."
I haven't entered that room since I lost, dear hero.
I haven't been comforted by your smile in awhile, dear hero.
Today marks a full month since you've been gone...
And each evening brings a new dawn
This dawn isn't as bright, isn't as happy
It's gray, and crappy.
Your mother is beautiful and kind,
Not something easy to find.
Her smile hides a few tears,
And her eyes still hold what she silently fears.
You're gone.
She laughs, shares your memories and shows nothing.
She is a diamond, and grief, the world, and her surroundings are merely glass.
You are lucky to have had her, she has true class.
Your father is a fighter,
And will fight until the end.
He currently awaits the storm to quiet,
But it will come again,
When it does, he is ready.
He may cry, or want to give up...
But with all you've taught him, he will always hold your hand through the war.
Your sister, a lovely girl,
Never knew, and never would have guessed her brother held her so high.
You both faught and teased,
Never always fully pleased.
He protected you, and kept you from other boys,
For no one was just right for you, and were simply just toys.
He held you close, closer than anyone. That is, until...
Your amazing soulmate.
You faught, you laughed, you loved, you cried...
But never have I seen him look at someone filled with so much pride.
The way he spoke of you, the way he held you, it was clear to all
That she was your Cinderella you'd take to the ball.
With all these people who loved you so, I have forgotten to mention just a few more.
The schools you taught in, they will never have someone as enthusiastic as you.
The lives you touched, they will always remember the fires you set
The stains you made, the falls, and the slight clumsiness you provided.
The people you inspired, they will hold you're words forever like pillows at night.
And last, but not least,
Myself.
It's been forever, and no matter how much I write
No matter how hard I try
And no matter what I do or say to convince myself otherwise...
I still can't bring myself to say it.
You're gone.
I can type it, write it, think it, and hear it...
But I can't say it.
I lost a friend, a hero, a teacher, and so much more...
And soon, oh soon, I will see you smile again.
I visit you everyday now, and it's sad, yes, but it's nice.
You're shuffling, you're climbing down from the balcony, you're making me laugh.
And every visit provides me something more, and I love it.
I only hope there are more like you around
Though you cannot be replaced, I only hope more will follow in your foot steps.
The world is now my arena, and I can hear the crowd cheering me on.
I will never again say "I wish"
Now, I say "I can", like you did.
I can.
I will.
And I have.
I will never forget you.
